Bittern Field

The Bittern field is located in the Central North Sea 22km south of the Triton FPSO and lies in a good quality Eocene reservoir.

The field was discovered in 1995 and was developed via a subsea tieback to the Triton Floating Production, Storage and Offload (FPSO) vessel.  Oil production is exported from the Triton FPSO via shuttle tanker and gas exported via the SEGAL gas line.  First production was achieved in April 2000.

The field lies at a depth of 6,800ft and contains a light 39⁰API oil with an initial gas cap.  There are 5 production wells supported by 2 water injectors and a regional aquifer.

A sidetrack of an existing development well is planned.
