Kraken Field

The Kraken Field is located on the East Shetland Platform of the South Viking Graben in the Northern North Sea.

Oil was discovered in shallow Lista Formation sands of the Heimdal Sandstone Member in 1984 and subsequently developed via the Armada kraken FPSO, achieving first oil in 2017.

The field lies at a depth of 3,900ft and contains sweet, heavy 13-15⁰API oil.  An integrated production system supports oil production via 14 production and 12 water injection wells
